Traffic notification for Kempsey-Armidale Road

April 2024

We are currently preparing for investigative drilling works at the proposed site of the lower reservoir.

As part of this work, heavy vehicles will be moving along the Kempsey-Armidale Road between Bellbrook and George's Junction on Thursday 18 April 2024 and Friday 19 April 2024. Please note, the oversized load that was scheduled to be moved on Friday 19 April has been postponed.

Vehicles will be under escort with lights on. Signs will be in place and contact with vehicles can be made using channel 17 UHF.

On Friday 26 April, we will be transporting a drilling rig on a twin-steer tilt tray from Bellbrook to Lower Creek. The drilling rig may need to be walked in from Lower Creek to George's Junction.

Spotters on UHF will be deployed at the front and rear of the load and the road will be closed in sections while we manoevere through tight sections. We will permit light vehicles to overtake the oversize load when the width of the road allows.
